Day 32 – 3D Printer Setup (2/04/2020)

Authors: Andrew Georgioff, Ritik Mishra

3D Printer

We were taught how to operate our new Stratasys 3D printer by a Stratasys employee. We received the printer from Stratasys on the 27th. A basic set of rules was also determined for the 3d printer to ensure proper usage. The two main points to these rules are that all prints must be approved by an engineering captain/design lead, and you must have operated the printer a few times under supervision before you can operate it independently.

Awards Submissions

We continued to finalize our awards submissions today. We finalized our Woodie Flowers essay before submitting it today. Our submission will be judged at the 10,000 Lakes Regional. We also worked towards finishing the chairman’s essay, so that we can submit the award as soon as the video is completed.

Quote of the Day: “We didn’t do much, we just CADed the whole robot” – Ritik Mishra, Design Lead providing a summary of last week’s CAD progress

Note: this is a meme originating in 2017 and all future design leads are expected to keep this tradition
