Visting RFA: Connection and Learning

Getting a Tour

What’s the best way to end a Friday afternoon off, you may ask? Well, Talon’s got an answer! Most recently, we toured RFA Engineering Consulting, which is based here in Eden Prairie. Our team members bundled up in their coats and were greeted by one of their own mentors who works at the company. We learned quite a bit about some of the favorite projects the companies have been involved in, from off-highway mobile equipment and mechanical power transmission.

While FRC certainly handles some intricate systems, some of the wheels on these projects were 2x bigger than a person! After a very informative presentation, we were taken around the building to see their workspaces as well as their lab, where they work with to-scale pieces that go into such impressive engineering.

(Excited to learn more about engineering!)

Robot Buddies!

Our team was sure to ask questions about anything they were curious about, and were overjoyed at the sight of a few battlebots that an RFA engineer was happy to show us. They were certainly beat up, but that didn’t stop excited robotics kids from taking a peek at the electrical and design of the bots. In conclusion, it was a great experience to see where our robotics knowledge might point us in the future. Thank you so much to RFA Engineering for hosting us!
