2025 Ten Thousand Lakes Regional

Our drive team waving their rags

10k History

Talon has attended the 10,000 Lakes Regional (10k) for every year possible since 2009. We have been a finalist alliance captain in this tournament twice! We have been in the playoffs each year for over ten years, and similarly, for over ten years. Our Womens Panel is typically hosted at this event! This year, the event had a new venue and was hosted in the Williams Arena of Warner Coliseum.

Robot Performance

Before 10k, we had made significant changes to our robot’s design, which allowed us to do better than we did in Rocket City. Similarly to our first tournament, the robot never broke. Our modifications made our scoring much more accurate, so we scored many more points! We ranked twelfth, were the first pick of the fourth alliance, and even won the quality award!

Women’s Panel

Every year, Talon hosts a Women’s Panel, where women from all over the STEM field come and talk about their experiences as a woman in STEM and robotics. This year, the panel was a little different. With the new venue of the competition, they had no space for us to host it at the tournament. So, we held it at the high school and were also able to serve ice cream. The panelists answered questions from the students and then had small group discussions over ice cream. It was an amazing experience for all of our students! Thank you to our panelists for your participation and expertise!
