Corporate Demos

We go to businesses that belong to our Gold Tier or above of sponsors and show them our robot. As we show them our robot we talk to them about how we designed and build our robot as well as giving a presentation that talks about our team and thanks for sponsoring our team.

Community Outreach Demos

For our community outreach demos, we go throughout our community and show of our robot to the public. We do this to get people interested in STEM and FIRST programs. Usually we bring this season’s robot, and sometimes we bring our 2013 robot, which can shoot frisbees. Many people like to catch them, especially children, and this helps to spark an interest in STEM.

Some of our demos include:

Bots for Tots – We hosted a demo at our local mall, showcasing our robot while collecting toy donations for Toys for Tots!
Sparklefest – We bring our robot to our city’s 3rd of July event to interact with the people who stop by. Our area is often popular and gives us a chance to raise interest in both our team and STEM in general!
State Fair – We attend the Minnesota State Fair to demo our robot in the STEM building and submit a poster and written entry to compete for an award. After the demo, the robot remains on display in the building for the rest of the event.
My Book Day – We participate in our district’s event, My Book Day. This event is held for first graders, featuring a variety of presenters, all to inspire kids to read! We present our robot and talk about how important reading is in STEM.
IEEE Picnic – We bring our robot and a few team members to the annual IEEE picnic to demo our robot and talk a bit about our team. They are a huge supporter of our team, we love being able to give back!
