The 2019 season was another great year. We competed in the Great Northern Regional and in the Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional presented by the Medtronic Foundation. At the Great Northern Regional, we became the 3rd alliance captain and we fought hard but were unable to beat the first place alliance, and were finalists. In addition, Talon Robotics was honored to receive the Creativity Award for our cargo tunnel design. As the finalist alliance captain, Talon Robotics was given a “wild card” invitation to attend the World Championship Competition in Detroit, MI at the end of April, only the 2nd Minnesota team to go to the World Championship 7 times in a row. At the 10,000 Lakes Regional we were the 6th alliance captain. The team won the Engineering Inspiration award at the event, and Isaac Ash-Johnson won the FIRST Deans List Finalist award. Once at worlds, we were able to compete with some amazing teams in the Darwin Division.
