Talon Robotics Summer Camps

Our Talon Robotics high school students work with Eden Prairie Community Education to offer a number of camps this summer for area students.

Talon Robotics Summer Camp

  • 2 sessions
  • Open to grades 1 to 4
  • Description: Want to build your own robot? The Talon Robotics Camp will introduce you to a whole new world of building and creativity. Students will take part in STEM challenges that promote out-of-the-box thinking. This class also includes a small robotics project to take home at the end of the session. Taught by the EPHS Robotics team with support from adult mentors, your student will also get a chance to interact with the high school robot at the end of camp. **No prior knowledge of robotics is required.

 

Talon Robotics Basic Programming Camp

  • 1 session
  • Open to grades 3 to 5
  • Limit to 10 students
  • Description: This Talon Robotics Camp will focus on developing programming skills using Lego Mindstorms Program. Students will start with an EV3 robot and attach motors and sensors.  Students will be provided support as they create more advanced programs to allow their robot to compete head to head in a final tournament. Taught by the EPHS Robotics team with support from adult mentors, your student will also get a chance to interact with the high school robot at the end of camp.

 

Talon Robotics Advanced Programming Camp

  • 2 sessions
  • Open to grades 5 to 8
  • Description: All new advanced programming camp developed by Talon Robotics.  This class will have students use text based programming (Arduino C) to instruct their small table top robot to perform tasks.  Emphasis will be on understanding the code.  Taught by the EPHS Robotics team with support from adult mentors, your student will get a chance to interact with the high school robot at the end of camp.  **Some prior programming experience helpful but not necessary.
